Vitalcare Production, Distribution and Logistics SPA partners with Jamjoom Pharmaceuticals Factory Co. for the acquisition of a Sandoz production unit in Algeria
Vitalcare acquired 51% of the shares of the company “Jamjoom Algeria Lil Dawa SPA”, having a share capital of 2,350,000,000.00 Algerian Dinars. The remaining 49% is owned by Jamjoom Pharmaceuticals Factory Co., a publicly traded company. The objective of this partnership was the acquisition of a Sandoz pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Algeria.
This factory is a modern facility providing different dosage forms (tablets, capsules, powders) in different therapeutic areas (cardiology, anti-infectives, allergology).
In addition to maintaining the production of all products that were manufactured by SANDOZ in Algeria, this partnership provides for other equally important investments, in order to ensure the local production of essential medicines with other dosage forms. This will contribute to self-sufficiency in pharmaceutical products on the one hand, and on the other hand, ensure exports to other countries, particularly in Africa and the Middle East.
Vitalcare already has a manufacturing unit for the blood sugar strip, “Vital Check”, with an annual production capacity of 9 million units and plans to expand its range of medical devices by the end of 2023.
Vital check® strips are produced locally, in full process with a quality management system meeting ISO 13 485: (2016) standards.
